De Nederlandsche Bank Promoting poster for an exhibition organized by the art department of the Bank of Netherlands. As the title explains it, this exhibition deals with illusion and its relationship with art. I used an advert in a double meaning. In a first place, advertizing is representative of the illusion constantly present in our life and our world. But I also used this advert in particular because of its content which exactly match with the exhibition title. The advert is famous enough to be recognized though it's troncated. I cutted it in order to be not too much demagogic. It becomes then a pattern, an useless or decorative object, a reflection of itself. An illusion. ![]() Offset - 59,4 . 84,1 cms. Back to index |
