This will kill that

I designed this picture as a graphic translation
of a chapter from Notre-Dame de Paris,Victor Hugo's
book : Ceci tuera cela (This will kill that).

Offset - 60 . 80 cms.

As Victor Hugo, the book will kill the edifice. The press will kill
the church. He considers the Middle-Age as a transition
period in which the book will replace the architecture as the
ultimate human expression. That's why I decided to organise this
graphic fight. Every element has a symetrical and opposite one.
If you want to read the chapter, which is really interesting,
you can have the english version, or the french one but in pdf.
